FAQ

Q. What items can you make?
A. Basically any item that is turned on a lathe, (I don't know it all but what I don't know, I'm learning.) As long as it is under 17" long and 10" in Diameter. I mostly make pens, but I am able to make other things you'll like as well. Key fobs/chains, Bottle stoppers, refrigerator magnets, Rolling pins, Bowls & cups, Christmas Ornaments, Candlesticks,  and the list goes on.

Q. how long does it take to make an item?
A. This depends on several factors. Including but not limited to, What you want made, what wood or acrylic you want to make it with, is the wood dry or not?
Any wood item you wish me to make must not be green wood and cannot be wet, this is because the wood may very well crack as it dries and cures. Wood typically has to dry at least a year or more before it is ready to be turned. I will not make items from wet wood then have an irate customer due to the item's wood splitting as it dries.
In short, how long it takes is often determined by what you the customer want me to make. Most times, it will only take a few days, sometimes only a day. Sometimes though it can take up to weeks before an item is done, especially if I have to wait for any items to be shipped.

Q. Can you make an item out of a wood or acrylic I send to you?
A. Certainly, Just contact me with the details and I will get back to you with shipping information, and work on any other details that are required.

Q. What do you finish your products with?
A. It depends on what is being made. If I am making a pen, usually Mylands High Friction Polish will be used. I can use glue finishes for pens as well. If you have a preference on what to use for a specially made item for you, just let me know.
For bowls and cups Etc. I will use a food safe finish, General Finishes Wood Turners Finish.
For acrylics, Sanding to 12000 grit usually gets a shine that is to die for.

Note: I am not responsible for damage caused by any shipping services, contact the shipping company for these problems. I do not require insurance to ship an item to you or for you to ship an item to me, but I highly recommend it!

This FAQ will be added to periodically as I get or think of questions that you want answers to.
